Thank you to everyone who has contributed or will to contribute to providing breakfast snacks for our seniors tomorrow morning, while they wait for their exciting trip to Purgatory Chasm! The response from our parents was swift and generous, per usual. You are all appreciated!
...who directs traffic at AMSA every morning, two words: YOU ROCK!
Yes, sometimes, we parents are in a hurry, and it feels like it’s taking a long time for our turn to come (it’s because there are a lot of cars 😉). But, just imagine the utter chaos and longer traffic wait if we didn’t have this good Samaritan. To sign up for this job, he was willing to weather honking horns, a few cranky parents, and well...bad weather, just to help us all out. It takes a special person to stand out there in the middle of fast-moving cars and impatient glares, for the sole purpose of being helpful to our AMSA Community. (Seems pretty stressful, doesn’t it?)
Soooo...I hope you will join me and many other grateful parents in yelling, “Thank You” out your car window, the next time you see him. 😀 I think we will all feel good about it, right? 😀
Just a super friendly reminder that the AMSA PTO is all of us...Every parent or legal guardian of an AMSA student is already a member of the AMSA PTO. Get involved! Volunteering can be a fun and rewarding experience, and your contributions benefit our entire community. (We really are fun. I promise.)
Please consider sharing your time, talent, or treasure this year. Email us at AMSACSPTO@gmail.com to find out how you can get more involved at your child’s school.
There is just one, last evening of meeting our kids’ teachers and walking their schedules at Back to School Night (tomorrow night). PTO parent volunteers will be available to greet parents in the upper school entryway between 5:30-6:00. The evening schedules begin at 6:00, so please stop by early to chat and get your AMSA bling.
AMSA Car Magnets and AMSA Face Masks will be conveniently available for sale – along with a few baseball caps – at the very same, upcoming Back to School Nights, from 5:30-6:00 in the upper school entryway.
Of course, don't forget that AMSA Car Magnets and AMSA Face Masks are always available for only $5 each at the lower school front desk! Exact change will be appreciated by the receptionist, as always. Slap that pride on your face with an AMSA Face Mask and make sure to humble-brag, all day, every day, with a (not sticky) AMSA Car Magnet on your car.
The After Prom Committee is still looking for new volunteer friends. Both middle school and high school parents are encouraged to get involved. Many roles are needed to plan, fundraise, and deliver a safe evening of fun, friends, and prizes. Often, parents with younger kids can jump in to save the Juniors and Seniors from spending the evening with their own parents hanging around at the event “volunteering,” so we REALLY need you, too. There is plenty of fun volunteering to go around for everyone! If you are interested in helping (it really is fun), please click here.
Used Uniform Collection is Underway! Please consider donating your kids’ gently used uniforms. You can drop donations off at the lower school front desk on school days. Your donations are a big help to our community! --Thank you!
I think we should give another shout out to the hard-working Used Uniform Committee. I feel tired just thinking about all the collecting, searching, sorting, hauling, and setting up they do for us! Thanks, Y’all.
Let’s not forget that every time the kids have a ½ Day on Wednesday, the AMSA PTO (that’s you and me) will hold a Restaurant Fundraiser at one of our area restaurants. Stay tuned for locations.
Starting next Tuesday, October 5, every 1st Tuesday of the month is “D’Angelo’s 1st Tuesday Sandwich Day”. Show up with the kids (or without - you choose) and create for yourself, a blissful evening of NOT cooking. Do this, and just like that, D’Angelo’s will write that check for us. Ka-Ching!
